Teddy vs MoeGo: An Honest Comparison for 2026

Teddy vs MoeGo compared on price, texting, online booking, routes and missed calls.

Editorial Team

We make Teddy, so read this the way you'd read a groomer's review of their own shop. We've tried to keep it fair, and that includes saying where MoeGo is the better pick. If you're deciding between Teddy vs MoeGo this month, the short version is that the two products cost about the same on paper and feel very different once you start texting clients.

The short answer

MoeGo is a big, feature-heavy platform that grew up around mobile grooming and now sells to salons, franchises and enterprise chains. Teddy is a smaller product built for independents and teams of one to five, and it leans on two things: texting that never gets metered, and an assistant you can ask to do the admin for you.

Pick MoeGo if you run a large fleet, want a branded client app, or need franchise-level reporting. Pick Teddy if you're a solo groomer or small shop that lives in its text inbox and doesn't want to count messages.

Teddy vs MoeGo pricing

Teddy's prices are public on our pricing page. MoeGo's plan prices below come from third-party pricing trackers checked in October 2026, so confirm with MoeGo before you budget around them.

The line that matters is "how it scales." A three-van mobile business on MoeGo Growth is paying per van. On Teddy Core that same business is one location with up to five groomers. If you're a single van, the math is close to a wash and you should decide on features instead.

Texting is where the two split

Most grooming conversations happen by text now. "Running ten minutes late." "Can you fit Biscuit in before the holiday?" "Here's a photo of the matting, do you still want the teddy bear cut?" None of those are automated reminders. They're real back-and-forth, and on a busy Saturday a two-groomer shop can send a couple hundred of them.

Teddy doesn't meter any of that. Every plan, including the $49 one, has unlimited two-way texting. You never get to the 20th of the month and start rationing replies.

MoeGo's messaging is solid and its automation is more configurable than ours. But several independent pricing breakdowns describe SMS as an add-on cost on the lower plans, with unlimited auto messages reserved for the top tier. If you text a lot, price out your real monthly volume before you compare sticker prices.

Online booking

Both products let clients book from a link.

Teddy's booking is request-based. A client picks a service and a time, and you approve it before it lands on the calendar. That's deliberate. A first-time 90-pound doodle who "just needs a trim" should not be able to drop itself into a 45-minute slot. You see the request, check the pet, and say yes or suggest another time. More on how that works on the online booking page.

MoeGo gives you more dials: instant booking, service-area rules for mobile, deposits and prepayment at booking, and a client-facing app. If you want clients to self-serve completely with no approval step, MoeGo does that better today.

Mobile groomers and routes

This was MoeGo's home turf and it shows. Its smart scheduling, drive-time awareness and service-area tools are mature, and a lot of multi-van operators swear by them.

Teddy has route optimization on the Core plan and up. It orders your day's stops to cut drive time and it handles the usual mobile needs. For one to three vans it does the job. If you're running eight vans across two metro areas with zone-based pricing, MoeGo's mobile tooling is deeper.

Missed calls and after-hours

You can't answer the phone with a Bernese on the table. Teddy's Plus plan includes missed-call and after-hours handling: when a call goes unanswered, the client gets a reply, their pet details get collected, and the request is waiting for you when you put the clippers down. There's a walkthrough on the AI receptionist page.

MoeGo has been adding AI features too, and its branded phone number on higher tiers is a nice touch for shops that want everything under one number. Ask their sales team to demo exactly what happens when a call is missed, then ask us the same thing.

Who should pick which

MoeGo is probably the better fit if you:

  • Run more than five vans or several locations with central reporting
  • Want a white-labeled client app
  • Need deposits and prepayment built into instant booking
  • Have someone on staff who enjoys configuring software

Teddy is probably the better fit if you:

  • Are solo, home-based, or a team of two to five
  • Text clients constantly and don't want a usage bill
  • Would rather say "move Daisy to Thursday at 2" than click through four screens
  • Want a founder to pick up when something breaks
