5 MoeGo Alternatives If Your Text Bill Keeps Climbing

Five options compared on how each one charges for SMS, starting price and who it suits, plus how to audit your usage

Editorial Team

People rarely leave MoeGo because the software is bad. It isn't. They start searching for MoeGo alternatives after opening an invoice and seeing the messaging line. If that's what brought you here, this list is sorted by the thing you care about: how each option charges for texts.

‍

We make one of the five. It's labeled.

‍

First, find out what you send

Before you switch anything, get your real number. A switch based on a hunch can land you somewhere no cheaper.

  1. Pull last month's message count from MoeGo's messaging or billing report.
  2. Split it into automated (reminders, confirmations) and manual (replies, photos, one-offs).
  3. Note what you paid for messaging on top of the plan.
  4. Divide to get your cost per message.

‍

If you send under 300 texts a month, messaging probably isn't your problem and you may be fine where you are. Past 800 or so, the pricing model starts to matter a lot.

For reference, MoeGo's unlimited auto messages are listed as a feature of its Ultimate tier, reported at around $159 per van. Competitor details come from vendor sites and third-party listings as of October 2026.

‍

1. Teddy (ours)

Unlimited two-way texting is on all three plans: $49, $99 and $199 per location. Nothing is counted, including photos and anything the assistant sends for you. Pricing is per location, so a second groomer or van doesn't double the bill on Core.

‍

You also get: calendar, client and pet records, intake forms and agreements, payments via Square. Online booking, automated reminders and route optimization start on Core.

‍

You don't get: a branded client app, franchise tools or MoeGo's depth in multi-van scheduling. If you run a big fleet, read the next few options or stay put.

‍

2. Gingr

Gingr states plainly that SMS is included in every plan with no add-on fees. That's a real point in its favor. The catch for groomers is everything else: Gingr is designed around boarding and daycare reservations, and its entry price is roughly double the small-shop tools.

‍

Choose it if: you groom inside a facility that also boards or runs daycare.

‍

Skip it if: you're mobile or grooming-only.

‍

3. GrooMore

A simple grooming-focused system with scheduling, client messaging and auto-reminders at a low monthly price. Listings show roughly $39 to $69 a month with no contract.

‍

Choose it if: you want low cost and few moving parts.

‍

Check first: how many messages are included at your plan level and what overage costs. We compare it with Teddy on the Teddy vs GrooMore page.
‍

4. Pawfinity

Long-established, with thorough grooming records and a loyal user base. Pricing starts around $50 to $55 a month according to listings, with a free trial.

‍

Choose it if: you care more about detailed pet and inventory records than a modern look.

‍

Check first: its current SMS terms, in writing.

‍

5. DaySmart Pet

The former 123Pet. A full salon suite with integrated POS and marketing. Texting is supported; what's included depends on tier.

Choose it if: you sell a lot of retail and want it in the same system.

Check first: total price for your staff count, since tier pricing isn't consistently published. See our list of DaySmart alternatives if it doesn't fit.

‍

What you'd give up by leaving MoeGo

Be clear-eyed about this.

  • Mobile scheduling depth. Drive-time-aware booking and service areas are MoeGo's strongest feature. Teddy has route optimization; the others on this list mostly don't.
  • The client app. Some of your clients may already use it.
  • Automation. MoeGo's message automation is more configurable than most.
  • Your team's muscle memory. Budget a week of slower days.

If those matter more than the messaging bill, a different MoeGo plan might be the better fix. Ask them what Ultimate would cost you versus your current plan plus SMS. Sometimes upgrading is cheaper than buying bundles.

‍

Five questions to ask any provider about SMS

  1. Is two-way texting included, or only automated reminders?
  2. Is there a monthly cap? What happens when I hit it?
  3. Do inbound replies count?
  4. Do photo messages cost more?
  5. Do I get a dedicated number clients can text and call?

If you decide to move

Export clients, pets, notes and upcoming appointments before you cancel. Run both systems for one overlapping week. Text clients your new number or booking link once, clearly. Our guide to switching from MoeGo or DaySmart walks through each step, and we import your data free.
