Rick's grooming journey began when his mother established the business in 1972, starting in their garage and later opening their own shop in Bedford in 1991. After his mother's retirement in 1992, Rick continued the business, subleasing from various grooming shops in the H-E-B area. In 2009, Rick met Rene', who joined him in the business after leaving her job as a special needs teacher in 2011. Together, they formed R&R Grooming and continued to sublease until opening their own location in Bedford in 2017. Operating as the sole groomers, Rick and Rene' lead a team of bathers and blow dryers, catering to an average of 25-30 dogs per day, and have been thriving ever since.
