About the Owners
Kellie Owens, the founder of The Spaw in Oxford, Mississippi, made a life-changing decision in 2009 to start a pet nanny service, which eventually grew into a full-fledged grooming service by 2013. The inspiration for The Spaw came from her Golden Retriever, Wettie, and Kellie’s desire to provide an alternative to traditional kenneling for pets. In 2023, after multiple expansions, The Spaw now offers a unique, cage-free grooming environment with individual rooms designed to mimic a mobile grooming experience. The facility includes zen rooms with water fountains, music formulated for dogs, and aromatherapy, all of which contribute to a relaxing experience for the pets. Kellie’s commitment to providing the best care possible for her clients' pets stems from her deep love for animals and a promise she made to Wettie that she would always offer the highest quality of care.
